Three ways to get your NOC notarised
In person with our in-house notary public
Come to our office. The notary public checks each signer's original ID, reads the letter, watches you sign and applies the seal. We draft the NOC and translate it with a legal translator if the office needs Arabic.
Home or hospital visit
Choose our home visit private notary service. We come to your home, hospital or office, and the notary public completes the same checks there. Home visits are quoted on request.
Online notary public

NOC for visa application: when it is required
Each office sets its own rules. These are the common cases.

Travel visa applications through an embassy
Some embassies ask employed applicants for a letter from the employer confirming the job, the approved leave dates and that the employer has no objection to the trip.

Changing jobs or taking a second job
A new employer or the visa office may ask for the current sponsor's written consent. See the no objection letter from sponsor to work page.

A wife or husband taking up work
Where one spouse sponsors the other, an NOC from the sponsoring spouse may be requested for a work permit. See the NOC letter from husband to wife template.

Who can sign a valid no objection letter for visa in the UAE
The right signer is the one the requesting office names.
- Employer NOC: signed by an authorised signatory of the company, usually the HR manager, a director or the person named on the trade licence, on letterhead, with the company stamp.
- Sponsor, spouse or parent NOC: signed by the sponsor, the sponsoring husband or wife, or the parent whose consent is required.
A family NOC signed before a notary carries more weight because the notary checks the signer's identity, capacity and consent before sealing it (Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Article 7).

Every NOC needs these eight items:

The date of the letter.

The addressee: the embassy, visa office or organisation, or "To whom it may concern".

The signer: full name, nationality, passport number, Emirates ID number, and for a company, the company name, trade licence details and the signer's position.

The applicant: full name as in passport, nationality, passport number and relationship to the signer.

The purpose: which visa, trip, job or course, with dates or the name of the new employer.

The statement that the signer has no objection.

Mistakes to avoid
Problems that get an NOC refused
The employer will not issue an NOC
We cannot sign for an employer. We can draft the letter with the exact wording the embassy asked for, so HR only has to print it on letterhead, sign and stamp it.
The office wants Arabic
Dubai notary law expects an English NOC to be signed alongside an Arabic translation from a certified translator (Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013, Article 27). We prepare bilingual NOCs through our translation services.

Frequently asked questions
Can I write my own NOC?
Yes, if you are the one giving consent. Use the family sample above and sign it before a notary if the office wants it notarised.
Can the NOC be in English only?
Many embassies accept English. For Dubai authorities the notary may need an Arabic version. We tell you which applies.
How long is an NOC valid?
There is no single validity period that applies to every NOC. Each embassy or office decides how recent the letter must be. Check the request letter, and if it says nothing, sign the NOC close to the date you apply.
What is the difference between a notarised NOC and one on letterhead?
A letterhead NOC relies on the company's stamp and signatory. A notarised NOC carries a notary's seal confirming the signer's identity and consent. Family NOCs are usually notarised because there is no company stamp to rely on.
