Translation and Notary Services in Dubai for Family Documents
Translation and notary services go together in Dubai because the notary works in Arabic. If your consent letter, NOC or affidavit is in English, a Dubai notary usually wants an Arabic translation next to it, and you sign both.
We translate it with a legal translator, check it against your English text and have both versions ready. We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit private notary services.
In short
- Who translates: a legal translator registered with the UAE Ministry of Justice.
- What to send: the final English text, the document type and your signing date.
- Where you sign: our notary office, your home, hospital or office, or online.
- Next step WhatsApp the text to +971 52 947 5935.
Three ways to get it notarised
In person with our in-house notary public
Come with your original ID. The notary public checks each signer's original ID, reads both versions, watches you sign both and applies the seal.
Home, hospital or office visit
We come to your home, hospital or office with both versions ready. Good for elderly parents and for families signing together. Quote on request, plus the government trip fee.
Online
Where your document allows it, remote notarisation goes through the official UAE channels, the Ministry of Justice E-Notary System or Dubai Courts remote attendance. Read more on e-notary in Dubai.
Checklist
Which family documents usually need Arabic
If the office that asked for the document wants English only, tell us. Some documents are signed in both languages and the receiving office reads the English part.
Family documents
- A no objection letter for a visa, from a spouse or employer.
- An affidavit of support when parents or siblings come to stay.
- A child travel consent letter signed by a parent who is not flying.
- A declaration of residency for a bank or school.
- A power of attorney for a relative to act for you.
Step by step
Notary translation services, step by step
1
You send the final English text. Changes after translation mean paying for the translation twice, so we settle the wording first.
2
We translate it with a legal translator on the Ministry of Justice register.
3
We compare the two versions. Names, passport numbers, dates and amounts must match exactly.
4
We lay out both texts so the notary can see which paragraph matches which.
5
You sign both versions in front of the notary, who seals the document.

The rule behind it
- Dubai Article 27 of Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013 makes Arabic the language of the instrument. English can sit beside it when a certified translator has produced the Arabic and the parties sign each language.
- Federal: an instrument drafted by a notary is in Arabic. A foreign language is allowed only under conditions the Minister sets (Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Article 5).
- Interpreter: if you do not speak the notary's language, the notary brings in an interpreter from the Ministry's register (Article 8). Tell us your language when you book.
Certified translator in Dubai: what "certified" means here
People ask for a certified translator, a sworn translator or a legal translator. In the UAE the working term is a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice. "Sworn translator" is used in other countries, so ask for a Ministry registered translator.
A translation from a friend or an app is not what the notary needs, even if it is accurate.
Tourist translation in Dubai
Visiting parents and relatives often need a document translated during a short stay. Send us the text as soon as the trip is booked. A foreign certificate issued abroad usually has to be legalised in the country that issued it and then attested by MOFAIC here. A translation is an extra step on top of that chain, never a shortcut around it.

Mistakes to avoid
Mistakes that send a translation back
- Names spelt two ways, for example "Mohamed" in English and another spelling in Arabic. Both must follow the passport.
- Numbers retyped by hand, so a passport number has one digit wrong in the Arabic.
- An old draft translated, then the English edited, so the versions no longer match.
- Missing pages. Stamps and handwritten notes on the original are part of the text.
- Signing only one version. Both English and Arabic are signed.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I bring my own Arabic translation?
Yes, if it was made by a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice. We still compare it with your English text before you sign.
Can the translation be done after I sign?
No. The notary needs both versions in front of them when you sign, because you sign both.
Do you translate into languages other than Arabic?
Our focus is the Arabic version a UAE notary needs. For another language, ask us and we tell you what we can do.
Is a translated document valid abroad?
Being translated does not make a document valid abroad. It may still need MOFAIC attestation, which we take care of, and the embassy's step.
