Proof of Address in UAE: What to Show and How to Get It Notarised
Proof of address in UAE means a document that shows where you live, and the office asking for it decides which documents it accepts. When nothing is in your name, a notarised declaration of residency can fill the gap. We have in-house, in person notary public services, home visit private notary services and online notary public services for it.
The catch most people miss is that each office has its own list. Ask the bank, school or embassy what it accepts before you spend money on any document.
In short
- Price: a declaration of residency is from AED 600, with government fees paid on top at cost.
- Who signs: you, in front of the notary public, with your original Emirates ID or passport.
- What to bring: your ID and any papers that show your address.
- Where: in person, at your home, hospital, office or hotel, or online.
- Next step: send us a message and tell us who asked for the proof.

Proof of Address in Dubai: What Offices Usually Ask For
Banks, schools, embassies and employers all ask for proof of residency from time to time. They do not all ask for the same paper. One may want a tenancy contract, another a utility bill, another a letter.
Many people have nothing in their own name. A family member may hold the tenancy, or you may live in company housing or with relatives. In that case the office may accept a signed declaration of residency. Check first, then we can prepare it. Our page on the declaration of residency in the UAE shows a sample and what it says.

Step by step
How to Get Proof of Address in the UAE
Start with the office that asked. Ask these questions:
Which documents do you accept as proof of address?
Does the document need a notary public seal?
Does it need to be in English or Arabic?
Will you use it inside the UAE or in another country?
If the answer is a declaration, we draft it with you, check it, and arrange the signing. If the document is going abroad, it may also need translation and MOFAIC attestation. We take care of both.
Ask about your document
Three Ways to Get It Notarised
1
In person with our in-house notary public
You come to our office. The notary public checks each signer's original ID, reads the document, watches you sign and applies the seal. Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Dubai time).
2
Home or hospital visit
We come to your home, hospital, office or hotel. Home and hospital visits cover all areas of Dubai. The Dubai private notary fee of AED 1,000 per trip outside the place of work applies, and we give you a quote on request.
3
Online through the official UAE channels
Remote notarisation runs through the MOJ E-Notary System or Dubai Courts remote signing. We are not that system, but we tell you if your document suits it.

Mistakes to avoid
Mistakes That Get a Document Refused
- Signing before the appointment. The notary public must watch you sign.
- Blank fields or a name that differs from your passport.
- No translation when the office needs Arabic or English.
- A document for use abroad without its attestation. The UAE is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so MOFAIC attests it in the UAE.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I get address proof in UAE?
Ask the office which document it accepts, then bring the matching papers. If nothing is in your name, a notarised declaration of residency is one option. We can draft and notarise it.
How to get proof of address in UAE if I live with family?
Tell the office you live in a family member's home. Many ask for a signed declaration with the host's details. We can prepare it and have it notarised in person, at home or online.
How to get proof of address quickly?
Send us a message with your ID and the request letter. We tell you what is needed and confirm your price before you pay. We make no time promises, because the office that asked sets its own steps.
Where can I get proof of address?
Your landlord, utility provider or bank issues its own papers. For a notarised declaration, you can use us: in person, by home visit or online. A notary public is the person who checks your ID and applies the seal.
Does my proof of address need MOFAIC attestation?
Only if it will be used outside the UAE. We handle the attestation for personal documents from AED 150, with the MOFAIC fee paid on top at cost.
