NOC Letter to Work in Another Company: A Sponsor Sample to Copy

This no objection letter from sponsor to work sample is for an employee in the UAE whose current sponsor agrees to them working for another company, full time after leaving or part time alongside the current job. The wording is on this page to copy into your own document. The sponsor signs it on letterhead with the company stamp, and it is notarised only if the office receiving it asks.

At a glance

  • Who signs: the current sponsor or employer, through an authorised signatory.
  • Who asks for it: the new employer, or the office issuing the work permit.
  • What it must say: who the employee is, which company they may work for, in what role, and from when.
  • Notary: not always needed. If the new employer or authority asks for the signature to be notarised or witnessed, it is signed before a notary.

When the letter needs a notary

Most sponsor NOCs are accepted on letterhead with the stamp. A notary is involved when:

  • the new employer or a foreign embassy asks for the signature to be notarised,
  • the sponsor is an individual, not a company, and has no stamp,
  • the letter is going abroad and will need attestation after notarisation.

For a signature only, see our page on witnessing of signatures. The notary checks the signatory's ID and confirms they are signing willingly (Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Article 7). For a company signatory, the notary may also want to see that the person has authority to sign for the company.

  • No start date or role A letter that only says "no objection to working elsewhere" is often sent back.
  • Signed by a colleague without authority The signatory should be someone who can sign for the company.

Frequently asked questions

Will every UAE employer accept this sample?

The core wording of a no objection letter to work in another company is much the same everywhere. Some employers and authorities add their own lines. Always check whether the receiving office has its own form first.

Can I write the NOC myself and ask my employer to sign?

Yes. That is often the quickest route. Send HR the wording filled in, and ask them to print it on letterhead, sign and stamp it.

Does the NOC letter to work in another company have to be in Arabic?

Usually English is accepted by employers. An authority or a notary may need Arabic. We take care of the legal translation if one is needed.

What if my employer refuses to give an NOC?

We cannot sign for an employer. The rules on changing jobs without an NOC depend on your contract and the labour regulations that apply to you.
