## Three ways to get it notarised

In person with our in-house notary public

Come in and sign at the notary's desk. We prepare and check the document first, so the signing itself is short. The notary public checks each signer's original ID, reads the document, watches you sign and applies the seal.

Home or hospital visit

Our private notary comes to your home, hospital bed, office or hotel. This suits elderly relatives, new parents and patients. Online notary public

Federal law allows a notary to use IT tools in place of personal appearance (Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Article 18). Remote notarisation runs through the official UAE channels. ## What every signing needs

The notary will not seal a document unless these are in place ([Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Articles 5, 7 and 8](https://uaelegislation.gov.ae/en/legislations/1563)).

* The signer, in person or in a remote session the notary has agreed to.
* An original ID: Emirates ID, passport or another official UAE document.
* Capacity and consent. The signer understands the document and agrees freely.
* A final text, agreed before the signing. Handwritten changes on the day often mean a reprint.

* Supporting papers named in the document.

### Send the request

Tell us what the bank, school, embassy or visa office asked for.

### We draft and check

We use the names exactly as printed in each passport and send you a copy to check line by line.

### You sign

In person, at home, in hospital or online, with the notary public.

### Attestation, if needed

If the document goes abroad, we take care of the MOFAIC attestation. The UAE is not a party to the [Hague Apostille Convention](https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/status-table/?cid=41), so an apostille is not available for a UAE document.

## Affidavit or signature authentication

**Signature authentication** confirms that the person signed. The federal fee is AED 200 per party ([Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024, item 8](https://uaelegislation.gov.ae/en/legislations/2491)). A consent letter or an NOC is often signed this way.

**An affidavit** is a sworn statement made under oath. The federal fee is AED 300 (item 12). An affidavit of support is drafted this way.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which documents count as personal documents?

Documents a private person signs about their own family, home, money or travel: consent letters, NOCs, affidavits, declarations and personal powers of attorney. Company documents are signed for a business and follow a different process.

### What ID does the notary accept?

The notary checks identity from an Emirates ID, a passport or another official UAE document (Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, Article 7). Bring the original.

### Is a document signed at home as valid as one signed at the notary's office?

Yes. The notarial act is the same wherever it takes place. The notary makes the same identity, capacity and consent checks at your home as at the office.

### Do you handle attestation after notarisation?

Yes, for personal documents going abroad. We take care of the MOFAIC attestation and explain any embassy step that applies.
